You know when you watch the news and hear about a ferry boat capsizes in the Arabian Sea? Well today I felt like that could be us! Monsoon rains, dodgy wooden boat, not enough life jackets, kids puking, people praying. Full experience. Well worth it to see the Elephanta Caves! Temples dating back to 200BC carved in stone depicting Lord Shiva. Priceless.
What has become of me? I've become that mom who lives vicariously through her 7 year old daughter. Don't get me wrong. I haven't signed her up for Toddlers and Tiaras or Honey Boo Boo's Texas Choice Pageants. I signed her up for Brownies! Why? Girl Guides? Brownies? what have I done? Well, I have a problem. I love badges. I want to get badges...lots of them. In fact I may buy some on Ebay...no kidding. Why badges? Well, I used to be a brownie from 1977-1979 (7-9yrs old). I wore my brownie dress, scarf, beret with pride. I enjoyed my Wednesday nights at St. Cuthbert's Church. It was my first time in a church (I'm a Hindu and didn't know until I stepped into a church that I wasn't a Christian...that's a whole other post!) Brownies was a time I could do arts and crafts, sing songs, cook and bake and play with friends not from my school. I did this for years.
